PnL Calculator: Profit and Loss on a Trade With and Without Leverage
The calculator shows the result of a trade at your entry and exit prices — and makes it clear how leverage multiplies not only profit but also loss.
Calculated from your inputs. This is not a forecast, not a promise of returns and not investment advice. Real trading results can be anything, including a loss.
What matters
Leverage doesn’t change the price move — it changes how much of your margin that move takes. At 5x leverage, a 5% drop is −25% of your margin; at 20x it’s all of it. More in the article leverage explained simply, and to see where liquidation kicks in, use the liquidation calculator.
- Beginners — spot only, no leverage.
- Place the stop-loss before the liquidation level.
- Position size is based on risk: position size calculator.

- Leverage multiplies losses too.

- A stop-loss is mandatory.
FAQ
How is profit on a leveraged trade calculated?
The result is calculated on the whole position: position size = margin × leverage. Return on margin = price change × leverage.
Why do people lose their margin so quickly with leverage?
Because the loss is multiplied by the leverage too. At 10x leverage, a 10% price move against you wipes out your entire margin.
Does the calculator include fees and funding?
No, it’s a simplified calculation. Your real result will be worse by the fees and the funding rate.
