What it is

A listing is the addition of an asset to the list of instruments traded on an exchange. In the stock market, shares come to the exchange through an IPO; in crypto, it's when an exchange adds a coin and opens trading pairs, for example against USDT.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a listing on a major exchange a sign of a quality coin?

It means the coin passed the exchange's review, but it doesn't mean the price will rise or that the project is reliable. The price can fall after listing.

Where can I find out about upcoming listings?

In the exchange's official announcements: the news section on its website and its official channels. Don't trust “insider tips” in chats.

Why did my order fill at a strange price during a listing?

In the first seconds there are few orders in the order book, and a market order fills at worse prices. That's why you should use limit orders.
